5 Levels of Clinical Success
Level 1
Just starting out. No real statistics to be viable. Dependent on outside financial influence. Only a few patients/week and less than 1 new patient/week.
*Needs to learn marketing and promotion. Self confidence in the consultation and closing a plan.
Level 2
More than 1 new patient/ week. Treating 10 patients/wk. Breaking even with income/expenses. Implemented consultations and ROF.
Closing small plans 6-12visits.
*Needs to hire a receptionist/office manager.
Level 3
Multiple new patients/wk. 40 patients/wk. Making a small profit. Able to feel expansion. Closing at least 50%.
*Needs to hire a marketing director/office assistant. Start to use clinic systems to organize the patient flow. Treating 6-8 patients/hour.
Level 4
Multiple new patients and 80+patients/ week. Feeling busy. Reception/ marketer are busy and starting to work independently.
Using stats to measure staffs' outcomes.
*Needs to train staff weekly and manage their statistics. Hire an associate
Level 5
Seeing 100+ patients/wk. Feeling overwhelmed and overworked. Time to let the staff run the office while you sit back and conduct the symphony. Pay close attention to clinic statistics, balance sheet, working from outside the clinic and not in it.

After being shell shocked 2015 that my 99% insurance based practice would be NOW cash, due to the annual restructuring of insurance in Oregon i began scrambling to learn how to do business with patients and acupuncture. Prior to that? it was a non issue. All my patients had insurance benefits, they just pay their copay and no big deal, patients came in they got treatment, they came back, they had great benefits and its paid very well. All that changed in Oregon in 2015. Benefits were slashed, reimbursements went down, it was horrible. I had to learn and learn fast.
Since then i have learned from some amazing great people. So many have helped me and i'm grateful and indebted to all of them. But as always, when i see something? I gotta say something! Dominic Stape has been amazing. He has really helped me with my speaking, my tones, my language. He has walked me thru some tough spots. He has helped me trouble shoot, figure things out and take my practice to the next level. I would not be where i am today with out Dominics' help. I have two clinics now and see 180+ patients a week.
